History and Mission
SPL means " Local Productive System ", French State recognition obtained in 2005 for this collective procedure.
The SPL, created by the State in 1998, aims at facilitating, on a defined geographical territory, a collective network development of a sector or companies of the same business sector (+ informations on the DIACT website).
Hyères HORTIPOLE, association created in 1994 with 13 professional (member) structures , animates this approach with its board of administrators and its president delegated Mr. Michel Gueirard (photo opposite).
The stakes in the horticultural SPL:
- To answer to the new challenges in our sector (globalization, techniques evolution, environment) to ensure the horticultural companies competitiveness.
- To facilitate a projects logic favourable to the exploitations/companies development, in a collective and partnership dynamic.
Therefore, the information exchange, the dialogue, the synergy of the technical, human and financial resources, between the partners, are the base of the horticultural SPL procedure. (Download the horticultural SPL synthesis )
The horticultural SPL benefits from the support of public authorities and local authorities (Toulon Provence Mediterranean, General Council of Var, Region PACA) which are associated to our works in a "steering committee"
Objectives :
The economic objective : to develop the market shares of the cut flower industry thanks to a specialization strategy in an offer of 12 "Mediterranean" products.
This offer criteria are : the Mediterranean specification, an original or innovative range, an - advanced / late / against season - production schedule, or a high quality.
This objective goes with the promotion of Var producers know-how and with the specification/characteristic bound to the Mediterranean climate. The Mediterranean climatic conditions, our particular environment (fauna, flora) indeed are so many natural resources to highlight for our profession.
